Barrio de Chamberi
A third floor exterior flat in the heart of Trafalgar.
This flat was located once again in Chamberi, on Calle Eloy Gonzalo.
This was a third floor flat with fabulous light (looking SW) and had two balconies overlooking the street.
Originally it had the typical layout of the bathroom and kitchen at the back and five tiny rooms towards the front; we created a more open two double bedroom two bathroom flat by knocking down the partition walls.
In this flat I chose a bolder colour palette of greens and reds. I had two old green chairs I found in a local market which I loved and which I used to choose the paint for the shutters and I continued the green colour scheme with the patterned tiles in both bathrooms. There are touches of red in the flat such as the tomato lamp hanging in the dining area from Bordallo Pinherio and red coral ornaments in the bathrooms. The floor was again a honey coloured natural oak floor, and the counters and cupboards in the kitchens are walnut. With such bold colours the sofa and dining chairs were white and beige. The lamps in the hallway were the originals hanging in the flat.
